David Williams is a vegetation ecologist with particular interests in vegetation
dynamics and biodiversity, especially in riparian and aquatic environments. He has taught
ecological measurement and multivariate methods in the context of wildlife and vegetation
management for over 25 years. David has a degree in botany and zoology and a PhD in
vegetation ecology. He has particular expertise in the application of ordination and

Jim Hone is a wildlife ecologist who specialises in research on managing vertebrate
pests and their impacts. This work has required a sound understanding of the fundamental
tenets of experimental design and sampling, and how these are put into practice in the
less than controlled environment of field experiments. Jim has a degree in natural
resource management, a masters in vertebrate population dynamics and a PhD in vertebrate
pest control. He has run a number of courses within the higher education sector, and for
industry bodies, on experimental design and sampling.
