Journal Club

We meet to discuss ideas and papers at Journal Club, held weekly during semester in Building 3, Level C, Room 53A, University of Canberra, Wednesdays 12:30-1:30. See previous semesters

The idea of the Journal Club is for one person to take a lead on a controversial topic, or a topic that they found particularly stimulating, to share their enthusiasm for it (in 10 minutes) and to lead a discussion. Any paper will do, or any supporting manuscript, which must be circulated to staff and students (aca@aerg.canberra.edu.au, pg@aerg.canberra.edu.au) one week in advance. If you have a manuscript in close to final form, we would delight in providing a critique. Again, just circulate one week in advance and be prepared to outline the central message of the paper by way of introduction at the Journal Club.

Preparation: The facilitator normally places 20 copies of the reference paper in the mail room outside 3C53A by COB Thursday the week before, leaving one out for photocopying.

Contact: Sandy Finlayson or Emma Cook for confirmation of sessions or further information. All welcome!

Please Note: This activity is self managed. If you cannot run your session for some reason, please swap with someone else or find a replacement. Notify Sandy or Emma of any changes.
